Animal ID: Foster HomeKane (male)

American Staffordshire Terrier    Age: Puppy

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Kane : Male : approx 11 months Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier Medical History: 60lbs, solid Black with white snip on chest and paws. No medical issues, up to date on all shots, and Is neutered and potty trained. Misc: must be inside dog, good with older children, dogs and cats. Kennel trained, knows commands 'sit' and 'down' very well. Needs a little work with leash manners but he is still a puppy and in process of training. Kane was a result of a backyard breeder.. Kane and his sister being young pups, there owners tried to potty train them, but were not successful- the owners grew tired of attempting to potty train, so the ... (Read More)puppies were placed outside with hardly any human contact other than feeding. Due to Kane being left outside in the heat and rain and icy cold weather with no toys, etc- he became destructive. The owner did not like this so tied him to a post in the backyard with only a bowl for food and water. He became scared of new ppl- he became shy and timid due to not being socialized with out animals or other ppl outside of feeding time. He is not shy aggressive, he is shy scared. He was not socialized or cared for properly. When the owner grew tired of having them in the back, she tried taking him to a shelter, they stated because of his breed if he was not adopted in 7 days- they would euthanize him. When the owner came to work she was talking to one of her friends and I overheard the conversation, and told her I would take him, because of the misunderstanding of his breed, I could not allow him to be put to sleep over something he could not help. When she surrendered the poor baby, she handed over a collar and leash along with a bowl of food. The collar was way to big and I could tell he was not looked after physically or emotionally. She told me she had never had the time to bath him- she said she was too busy. And he had only had his first rounds of shots, but never been to an actual vet. I gave him a very thorough bath, cleaned his ears out, clipped his nails and a few other things to make him feel better. Due to not being brushed he had multiple patches of hair fall out. It took him awhile to understand that he could play and still be a puppy. I gave him lots of toys and raw hides to let him know it was ok to still be a puppy. And two months later, he is still a giant puppy, he has a mellow nature, but gets silly and outgoing from time to time, he deserves all the love and attention in the world- he loves to snuggle, and give kisses. He just can't get enough loving. He needs someone to be patient with him as he adjusts to a new home. Loud noises scare him, and he will end up in your lap! He really is a giant baby! He only really barks if he has to use the restroom, he will bark at the door. Also when he plays, a few little grunts will come out. He sounds like a cow when he makes his noises! Animal ID: Foster HomeFetty and Khalifa (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

These 2 brothers are hoping for a home 2-gether!! They are so bonded-but we understand that is not always possible so they CAN be separated, but please consider adopting them as a pair!! Twice the lovin and twice the fun!!! Hi! I'm Fetty. Some say it wrong and call me Fatty but I'm not fluffy at all. I'm really just 68lbs of lap dog with a lack of waist and an abundance of love. My vet says I'm a Pit Bull mix with a brindle coat. I was born 9/11/15 they say so I'm just over 2.5yrs old. I would add that I have white toes like spats and a gorgeous cummerbund. I'm really handsome and I know it! So I am a little full of myself but ... (Read More)when you get to know me you'll see for yourself. Hi! I'm Khalifa. Aren't I cute? So pretty I should be a girl and with a name like mine some people confuse me and call me that. I've answered to Smoka, Khal and even recently Joker as well (my foster thinks my markings make me look like that guy when I smile). My guess is this is due to nobody really being happy with my name. The vet even changed the spelling on my name. Humans...what can you do? Anyway, back to me which is important. I am a Pit Bull mix and was born on 9/11/15 so I'm a little over 2.5yrs old. My coat is fawn with white toes and a bright chest. I'm really gorgeous! I weigh in at 63lbs of pure muscle. I am a lean machine that licks and loves. You should know that early on me and my brother Khalifa weren't given the care and attention we deserved. We were kept together in a cramped kennel for most hours of the day being let out only at brief times. I sometimes would spill my food and water and mess myself and be that way until somebody checked on us which wasn't often enough. We didn't get the vet care we needed either and eventually I got Parvo but I beat that with the help of some friends. Later on we did not get much better treatment having being in the kennel or outdoors relatively ignored as our daily routine until my old master had to let us go. I'm looking for a loving, fair and firm forever home and I think one of you can help me. I asked at the beginning what you humans could do; show me love and patience and You won't be disappointed in what I do for you! German Shepherd

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

About almost 3 month ago my husband found a German Sheppard female roaming the streets eating food out of the trash. I took her pictures and posted on the lost and found sight and the Facebook with my phone number but no one has responded claiming her. I took her to the vet. She was dewormed, spayed, bathed and even chipped since she had not chip. I am unable to keep her since I got really sick and she doesn't get along with our cat , so they have be kept apart. Looking for happy, loving, caring forever home for her where she will get attention and be pampered and will never find her wondering empty streets again. I have all her shots ...     Ronan, a one year old cattle dog, is truly lucky to be alive. He was on the euthanasia list at a small high kill shelter that was closing. Thankfully, someone stepped up and sponsored him, so he is now with Trinity GAP Rescue. Ronan was covered in fleas and ticks, but got all cleaned up at the vet. He is Heartworm negative, vaccinated, weighs around 35 pounds and neutered. This young dog would look awesome riding in a pick-up truck like Aaron Rodger's dog. Fox Terrier Mix    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tucker is a sweet little senior guy, approximately 11-12 years old. He enjoys walks and spending time outdoors. While Tucker enjoys snuggles and all the attention he can get, he is just as happy hanging out in his bed chilling by himself. Tucker might have previously been in a one dog household, as it took him a little more time to get used to his 2 fosters sisters, who are 10 & 12. Animal ID: Foster HomeIvy Rose (female)

Black Mouth Cur Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi Everyone, Miss Ivy Rose here to tell you a little about myself. I LOVE ATTENTION!!! I am a Black Mouth Cur mix about 3 years old. Have I mentioned I like attention? I have not met a stranger yet that I don't like as long as they give me hugs, kisses, and belly rubs. I get along great with other dogs but not real sure how I do around cats as my Foster Mom does not have cats. My story began in a small rural Shelter in Texas where I was brought in as a very tiny puppy. A Shelter volunteer fell in LOVE with me at first sight and thought I was too young and little to be in a shelter. She took me home and our life began. She loved me VERY ... (Read More)much and I loved her too. We had the most perfect life until she lost her job and the house we were living in. We tried living in a car for a short time but that was no life for a dog. She had to move in with relatives but they would not let me come too. They did not like dogs. I ended up back at the same shelter I was in as a puppy. Please don't think to harshly on my owner, she was doing the best she could and she cried and cried as she left me. I was given to another family but that did not work out too well. The husband did not like me and as soon as they found out they were going to have a baby, I was made to stay outside. Now as I mentioned before, I LOVE attention. Since no one was paying attention to me I started jumping the fence. I would be caught and taken back to the house but they didn't really want me. Finally, the Animal Control Officer took me to her house and reached out to Trinity GAP Rescue to help me. Because I was forced to be outside all the times I got Heartworms. It is a disease that is caught when bitten by infected mosquitoes. Trinity Gap Rescue had me treated and I will need to be rechecked in about 6 months. Hopefully, I will be cured as it is not a fun procedure. If for some unlucky reason, the Rescue will have me retreated. I am hoping the third time is a CHARM and I will find my 'FUREVER' home with a family who will love me as much as I will love them. I am house trained, crate trained , and up to date on my vaccines. If you are interested in meeting me, please contact my Foster Mom at: gingerj8492@gmail.com. I am deffinitely looking forward to meeting you. Love, Miss Ivy Rose (Less)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

At Trinity GAP we believe in second chances, so when we got a call from a very dedicated shelter worker asking for our help for Tonka Toy we could not say no. This sweet baby came into the shelter as an owner surrender. Never mind that he was malnourished, his ears has been chopped off to nubs, was very sick and beat up. The people who surrendered him said they had fallen on hard times and could not take care of him. He was microchipped to them, so no denying who owned him.     Baby Bunny is a 2-3 year old spayed Pitt/Bulldog mix. Bunny came to GAP by way of her owner surrendering her because he is homeless and could not care for two dogs. Bunny is a sweet lil companion that just goes along and gets along. She really enjoys her naps and is happy to be laying next to you snoozing while you do whatever you want. She also enjoys her walks and is very good on a leash, staying right next to you with an occasional stop to enjoy all the wonderful smells. She currently is in a home with a male Bulldog and does just fine with him. She has done fantastic on her outings smelling and being smelled by other dogs. On a visit to ... She occasionally has moments of high activity where she loves to wrestle with her foster brother. To date I cannot help but laugh at how dramatic she does it as if to say UM not right now.     Update: Queen, who has been waiting for a forever home for a long time, has blossomed into such a super sweet dog. She was a good sport today when we dressed her up in jewels and a tiara. Queen has left the shelter and is currently staying at Mutt Shack while she recovers from Heartworm treatment. She is on the road to recovery. If you would like to meet this very special girl, please contact steffeniegaprescue@gmail.com. Queen #18003 Hound-Terrier Mix is a sweet girl that we know once had a home and a family! She is microchipped but sadly for her, we were unable to locate her owners. Sweet Queen sure does live up to her name! She is ... (Read More)very tolerant of other dogs but isn't much of a playful girl. She knows how to sit and she loves people. She does well on a leash and we thinks she is probably potty trained. I think her card says she 5 or 7 years old. She is heartworm positive and is now undergoing treatment. Sadly she has no place to go after her treatment and desperately needs a foster!! GAP pays for all vet bills-she just needs a place to call home-or even a foster home!!! Please contact Steffenie at steffeniegaprescue@gmail.com for more information!! (Less)

Animal ID: BoardingAnnabelle (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Annabelle Lee is one of the sweetest and most loving dogs you will ever meet. Her life has not been an easy one. She was dumped at the Ft Worth shelter while pregnant and gave birth there when it was very cold. The babies were born sick and she lost two of them before she was rescued and taken to the vet. Sadly, her last baby died, and she went into a depression. She was taken to Mutt Shack where she was as introduced to a young puppy boarding. She immediately came out of her shell and has been a happy girl ever since. She loves to kiss and play with the young puppy and is an amazing mamma dog. She is potty trained and gets along ... (Read More)well with other dogs. She is a dark brindle and is definitely part Staffordshire terrier. We are not sure, but may be mixed with a French Bulldog since her color and coat is the same and she is not a big dog. She weighs around 40 pounds. She walks great on a leash, takes treats gently, and is not toy or food aggressive. She is now spayed and Heartworm negative. Also, she loves the lake and is great with kids! American Staffordshire Terrier    Age: Puppy

Apollo was adopted when he was only 8 weeks old. Now at one year, his family can no longer keep him due to family issues and long working hours. DNA test proved he is 100% American Staffordshire Terrier with a beautiful shiny coat and white markings. He is very sweet and social. He enjoys playing with other dogs. Apollo has a lot of energy, so would make an excellent running partner. He is smart and wants to please his owner. With a little patience and training, he is going to be a fantastic dog, plus he is potty trained. He is extremely social and does well with both other dogs and people. Animal ID: BoardingRemi (female)

Whippet Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Remi is a very active and intelligent golden brindle Whippet/terrier mix who is one year old and weighs around 40 pounds. Being part Whippet, she is quite the athlete and would make a terrific agility dog. She can also jump several feet off the ground to catch a frisbee or ball. In addition, Remi loves to run long distance, so if you want a running buddy, she would be perfect. She is going to need a home with a yard and six foot wooden fence. Remi loves going to the dog park to run, but in a home would do best with a male dog. Because she is so energetic, we would suggest she not be in a home with small children. However, Remi is ... Animal ID: Foster HomeJamie Lynn (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

HI EVERYONE! My name is Jaime Lynn. I am told that I am a Blue Heeler Mix about three years old. Whatever I am, I am a great looking girl with one brown eye, one blue eye and my fur is like velvet. If you think you have had a LOUSY life, let me tell you a little about mine. My previous life did not start out too well. My previous owners evidently did not like me very well and did not take good care of me. I guess I did something wrong and they kicked me in the face and broke my jaw. They didn't care enough about me to take me to a vet and get it fixed. When the injury healed, it caused the skin on my mouth to hang loose giving me a ... (Read More)lopped-sided grin. They didn't spend much time with me so I decided to run away. My troubles just kept getting bigger and bigger. I hooked up with a temporary boyfriend and got myself pregnant. I ended up getting caught by a North Texas High kill shelter, very pregnant and about ready to give birth. The shelter spayed me and aborted my full term puppies. I have been told that the world is overpopulated with dogs and puppies but I just feel this was not the right thing to do. I was on the euthanasia list at this Shelter when a nice lady stepped up to foster me for Trinity GAP Rescue. Luckily, I had a lot of people who thought my life was worth saving. I was so scared when I arrived at her house. I hid in a closet for several days until I met the other foster dog Ivy Rose (who is also available for adoption through Trinity GAP). Ivy is full of life and loves everyone. She took me under her PAWS and helped me learn to trust and have more confidence. It is really 'IMPORTANT' that I have a confident and playful dog in the house to help me adjust to changes. This nice group took me to a vet who thought he might be able to fix my mouth. He did 'PLASTIC' surgery on me and I came out looking like a 'Movie Star.' Unfortunately, there was not enough scar tissue to make the skin stay connected, so as soon as the stitches came out, the skin was drooping again. I am able to eat and drink without any problems. My deformity is cosmetic only. I was told I could get it fixed but I would have to see a dog Orthodontist and my jaw would need to be broken and wired. Since my old injury is cosmetic only, the Rescue decided to not put me through that surgery. My jaw gives me SPECIAL Character!!! I am shy and a little scared when I first meet someone or placed in a different environment. As soon as I know I can trust you, I love getting attention and belly rubs. I am crate trained, house trained, and walk well on a leash. I like to go on walks with my 'fur' brother or sister. If you have a lot of love, a little patience and understanding for a 'SPECIAL' needs girl, I will 'furever' be your best friend. LOVE, Jaime Lynn If you have a home with a secure fence & would like to meet Jamie, please contact foster mom Ginger at gingerj8492@gmail.com to set up a meet-n-greet!! (Less)

Animal ID: 17904-FosterAce (male)

Australian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Ace was rescued by GAP with what we thought was an ear infection. It turns out his ear was injured months earlier and it became infected and was left treated for so long that his entire ear canal became swollen and it calcified like that leaving him with permanent damage. Despite treatments his ear only got worse so we have been fundraising for him to have his ear surgically fixed. His ear started to get worse really fast and our only option was to get him in surgery asap so on Thursday 4/5 he went to the surgery specialists at the Dallas surgery Center and he had a complete ear canal ablation. Surgery went very well and he is healing in his ... (Read More)foster home. It costs GAP over 2000 dollars for this surgery but we saved Ace from a life of infection and pain!!! He might have a silly looking ear but he will be a happy, healthy dog!! Ace - #17904 - Shepherd/Hound Mix - Year Old Male Rescued from Mesquite Animal Shelter.Ace is a wonderful young boy!! He is so good with other dogs and take ques perfectly from them!! I have a tiny foster puppy and he plays all night with him and does not hurt him at all!!! He is definitely active but is quickly learning his manner and is already house broken, potty trained, and has adjusted very well to the kennel!!! Animal ID: 17816-FosterLogan (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Logan #17816 Lab Mix - Such a sweet puppy - Neutered - Around a year old. Oh my goodness Logan is the funniest dog ever. When he sees reflective lights on the wall or ceiling, he thinks it's something and he stands on his back legs to get it. He is just obsessed with whatever it is that is moving all over the wall. He truly thinks it's a 'thing'! He is So super funny and such a sweet dog. Logan is about 2 years old and appears to be a golden Labrador/basset hound mix. Logan does have a disability. Unfortunately his front leg was broken most likely when he was a puppy. His owners did nothing to help this little dog and it healed at ... (Read More)an odd angle. Although a simple splint would have helped him, his neglect is now evident. Our vet felt that because he uses the leg, appears to not be in pain, and because it is a front leg that amputation was not in his best interest. Another option for his forever family would be an operation to re-break the leg and set it with pins. If that is in his future, that would be wonderful. In the meantime, Logan uses the leg most of the time, runs like the wind, and is a perfectly happy and joyous dog. Regardless of his situation, Logan is truly a joyous and happy dog. He seems to appreciate the blessing of every day and lives life to it's fullest! Logan is a bit of a goof ball and will keep you laughing. He is such a sweet and honest guy. He loves to play fetch, is perfectly house broken, is getting better on the leash, is the star of the show at the dog park, is learning how to tolerate cats, and is a great and calm guy in the house. He sleeps through the night on most nights with his foster mom and loves a regular schedule. He is learning commands and responds so well because the wants to please, which is a great quality in a dog! If you are looking to add a joyous soul to your life, Logan is the one for you. Bella currently has four foster siblings as big as 120 pounds to 10 pounds and does well with them. She does not do well with cats and will chase them. Bella may be 5 years ... (Read More)old but she doesn't let that get in the way of play or being loved on by her humans/fur siblings. Bella is mostly indoors but likes to be outside and sun bathes or can be inside next to you. She is protective of her humans and fur siblings so she would be a great watch dog as well. Bella does have an issue with her left back leg due to an injury she sustained a few years ago and her leg healed and walks around perfectly fine. With her energy you wouldn't notice she had an injury an she walks or jumps around perfectly fine.     URGENT FOR A FOSTER/RESCUE/ADOPTER!! Regan has been in a GAP foster home for a very long time now. Foster dad Bill can provide more details so if you think you can help, please contact Bill at email below or contact Steffenie at steffeniegaprescue@gmail.com. We don't have any options for this dog - he MUST find another place to go and soon!! Please help us!! He's located in the ... (Read More)Euless/DFW area!! Regan has adjusted VERY well since being here. He just wants to be loved. After spending many weeks in a kennel, I took the chance that Regan just needed to burn off a LOT of pent up energy. Many people judged him as being aggressive, but I felt the only thing wrong with Regan was he needed to be active. Sure enough, I introduced him to our small pack, and he became a completely different dog. Regan's age and breed cries out for activity. It didn't take long at all for him to warm up to our dogs, and began playing with them. He will chase a ball for as long as you will throw it. His perfect home would have another medium to large dog that will play with him, and a doggie door. He does not like cats. I sincerely believe with the right trainer/training, this sweet boy can learn ANYTHING. I am very impressed with him. Someone is going to end up with a GREAT dog. Needs a home with another dog as he is very playful and loves canine companionship!! He is not kennel/crate trained, but IS doggie door trained. (Regan is not good with cats so should be in a No Cat Home!! Also no birds!! Brings out the Pointer instincts in him!!) I am available to any and all questions!!
