Duke - Courtesy Post -Adoption thru Amber at Wpooh75@yahoo.com Thank you to Amber for taking in this poor pup and getting the vet care needed. He has come a long way! We hope Duke finds his forever loving family! Adoption fee applies! Hi, my name is Duke and I am a 6-7 month old Pit-bull mix. I have all my shots and I am neutered. The first few months of my life were rough. I was found wandering on the side of 820 in pretty bad shape. My foster mom took me to the vet and got me all fixed up. With lots of love and care I am back to 100 per cent puppy. I love to play and run. My mom has taught me how to sit and we are working on some ... (Read More)other commands but all I want to do is play. I play well with other dogs and I love kids. I need a home where I can have lots of attention and get to play outside. I don't like to be left outside alone, I want to be wherever you are so I can get loved on. Please contact my foster mom Amber at Wpooh75@yahoo.com for more information on ME and my adoption fee! Animal ID: UnknownLolly (female)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

Lolly - Spayed - This charming girl appears to be a Dachshund/Pug mix, and around two years old. Lolly is an adorable little dog that will steal your heart. She was found abandoned in Euless, microchipped in Dallas, but sadly, her owner has not claimed her. Wow! That means someone else is going to get a fantastic little dog who will give them lots of loves for many years to come. This baby walks well on a leash, appears to get along with other dogs, and loves people. Even though she was scared at being in the shelter, she quickly warmed up to volunteers, and displayed her amazing personality. We are hopeful that lovable Lolly will ... Animal ID: Foster HomeTipsy (male)

Domestic Cat    Age: Senior

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind

TIPSY TIGER ID# 16418 Tipsy is a beautiful Creamy Buff Flame Point Tabby gentleman who was dropped at the Euless shelter when his people were moving - without him. Needless to say, he didn't understand why he ended up in the shelter after being a faithful family member! Luckily GAP found him a foster home while GAP helps him find his forever home. Could that be you? We know Tipsy is around 10 years old and is partially blind due to an eye infection that wasn't treated when he was a kitten. Dr. Riley advises that he has about 20% of his vision - he can climb and jump but sometimes waivers or 'tips', thus his name. He loves to drink and play ... (Read More)with water from the bathroom faucet which makes getting ready in the morning interesting, so you'll need to be comfortable sharing! His foster home has an enclosed, safe patio area that he enjoys sitting in. By no means is he to ever be an outside cat, but with supervision, he'd like it if you sat outside with him so he can soak up a few rays. Tips is also a talker and will tell you many stories, tiger style. Many times he talks so you'll pick him up and cuddle him - he's a big cuddler and likes to snuggle up and purr (loudly). He also knows exactly what meal times are. If you've forgotten, he will definitely remind you! Contact foster mom Mary at mmjur@sbcglobal.net for a meet-n-greet!! (Less)

Animal ID: Foster HomeAddie (female)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Addie was dumped near the highway, and left at Mutt Shack Boarding. The people who saw her being dumped on a Sunday evening left her at Mutt Shack bc they said they could not keep her. We felt we could not leave her outside to be killed, so we transported her to GAP's rescue vet and made her a GAP dog. She is now totally vetted by Dr. Riley and is HW negative. Dr. Riley estimates her age to be between 8 and 10 months old. She quickly found a foster home and here's what her foster mom wrote about her: Addie is a super sweet German Shepard mix abandon on the highway. She learned the dog door on her own and is almost potty trained. Addie ... (Read More)rides well in a car, she is good with little humans, and loves meeting new dogs.     Augie #16721 - Terrier/Min Pin Mix - Stray - Neutered & Vaccinated - Augie is a handsome little guy that is SO scared in the shelter. He just went flat when taken out of his kennel but he never growled or acted out. Just tried to blend in with the floor. But once away from the noise, he relaxed and looked at us so gratefully with those sad eyes of his. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Paris ID# 16715, is a beautiful young orange and white cat that was brought into the shelter by a kind lady that found her and babies outside. She wanted to keep them safe, so big thanks for that, plus out of that brutal Texas heat. Paris's brood is 7 or 8 weeks old so she is ready to start a new home adventure where she can play and be doted on. She has been a great mom so I suspect she will be an even greater pet. I could not get her to play ... (Read More)with toys but that may change since she seems very young. Animal ID: Foster HomePenelope (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi, my name is Penelope and I'm a very energetic 9 month old puppy. Okay, let's get the bad stuff out of the way-read it real fast-- I don't do well with little people so I need a home with grown-ups and I can be your one and only child, ok? Whew-now for all the good stuff: I'm pretty laid back. I was surrendered by my owner thankfully. He kept me outside all the time, I had very little contact with people, no contact with other animals and no training. But I'm an indoor puppy now and LOVING it!! I live with 2 big labradors, we get along just fine but I think I would do best being the only dog or maybe just one other , two is a ... (Read More)little much for me at times. I met my first cat at Dr. Riley's office, we didn't spend much time together so I'm not too sure about them. I love playing in the water, I don't get the swimming thing but my foster mom fills the horse trough and I love to lay in it and stick my head under water to blow bubbles. I walk great on a leash, I take treats ever so gently, I'm not food or toy aggressive at all, I don't mind sharing with the others. I have a big crate that I go into when my foster parents go to work, I don't mind that. I'm not a barker. I LOVE having contact with a human, scratch my head, rest your hand on my back, rub my belly or let me just lay on your foot while I chew my bone.. that's what it's all about in my little eyes. At night I like to sleep on the couch but that's the only time I even think about getting on the furniture, my foster mom says it's ok because all I had before was concrete or a yucky towel, but I would be just as happy sleeping in a little bed next to yours. I love tennis balls! You throw them, I'll go get them and bring them back to you all afternoon. I haven't figured out the word drop it yet but I'll let you take it out of my mouth so you can throw it again. I do have an old front leg injury so I limp some. We don't know what happened but Dr. Riley looked at it and said as long as it wasn't bothering me or prohibiting me from doing things it was ok. I was given all my shots on July 21st , I'm heartworm negative and I am spayed. Her adoption fee is $125 thru Trinity GAP Rescue. I also recently finished Heartworm treatment and came through it like a trooper and have been deemed totally healthy! Would you believe I also had two cherry eyes fixed, so am definitely a lucky girl considering I was on death row at the Grapevine shelter before Trinity GAP rescued me. It may not sound very modest, but I very intelligent and did I mention tons of fun??? I play fetch, enjoy walks and pretty good on a leash. I did say I was intelligent I, and know most commands like sit, down, stay, off, and want to learn more... I am house trained or potty trained.     Dory #16437 is a beautiful, big, tuxedo female. She is very friendly but doesn't seem to like being carried. Hard to tell if that is just because she recently came into the shelter and she has not had time to warm up to us yet. She seems to be a little interested in toys so probably young adult. She uses the cat scratcher as soon as I put it down so that is very good sign she may be well behaved in that area. That also tells me she was probably an indoor cat at one time. American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update from foster mom: Chelsea is such a sweet and gorgeous girl!! Her shiny dark brindle coat and white chest, feet, and tip of her tail make her a show stopper wherever she goes. If you are searching for a big burly dog with a heart of gold then this is the dog for you! She absolutely loves humans both young and old. Her absolute favorite thing to do is come put her head in your lap and give kisses. She doesn't realize she is a big girl and wants to curl right up in your lap and chill. She is not a barker and gets along well with both large and small dogs. She is a medium energy girl; will play in short bursts and then take a ... (Read More)long rest. She is working on her potty training, leash manners, and basic commands. She does not love her crate but will eat, chew on her toys, and nap happily inside for short periods. Her preference is to be wherever her people are though. We truly wanted to adopt this girl ourselves but feel that finding her a wonderful family and continuing to foster is the best way we can support the homeless dog population. Whomever adopts this girl is getting an absolute doll baby in Chelsea! Chelsea #16421 is an absolute doll! She is a people dog, and also is very good with other dogs. She is a typical American Staffordshire Terrier who loves to cuddle, be with her people, and just loves to please. We just can't say enough about this stunning baby! We think she is around two years old, and went potty as soon as we took her outside. We are not sure why this baby has not been picked up by her owners, but some smart and lucky person is going to get a wonderful dog when they adopt her. Animal ID: BoardingMillie (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Millie is now in boarding thru Trinity GAP Rescue--she desperately needs a foster or a home!! Millie is a super sweet dog, and will make a great dog for someone. She is awesome with people. The poor baby has scars all over her face and legs where one of her siblings basically bullied and chewed her up. We think that is why Millie is dog reactive. Our fabulous dog trainer, Ray, is working with her, but she would make a perfect only dog. Fully house trained, does not chew, does not bark, crate trained, and generally very sweet and loving. Right now she would be great as an only dog but we will update her bio as she makes progress with ... (Read More)her training. She is okay on a leash walking, but off leash, she does not like other dogs. No dog park for this sweet girl right now. But she is so deserving of a home and family of her own---but right now she needs to be an only dog!! Trinity GAP Rescue was contacted to help Millie find a new home. GAP has no open fosters so if someone can foster Millie, GAP will take her into their rescue. Finding her a home within 30 days is the main priority but fostering her is a close 2nd! Update: Millie's owner has to surrender Millie within 30 days due to her apartment rules. She cannot break her lease and has no money to move anywhere else and start over with Millie. She rescued Millie about 5 years ago from a local shelter and truly truly loves her but Millie has some dog aggression issues and she is totally banned from the apartments. Trinity GAP is trying to help Millie and has our resident dog trainer working with her. He thinks she is entirely 'fixable'. She is great with people, and a very good looking girl. She will be pound bound at the end of 30 days if we can't find her a home. Hurst, TX - Millie is a 5 year old, 70 lb., Boxer mix. She is spayed, house broken, up to date on all her shots and heartworm negative. She is my dog but I have 30 days to find a home for her. She is very active and not good around kids. She's very reactive around other dogs. She will need an experienced dog handler. She does better with dogs who are submissive. Usually introduction to other dogs is very slow. I can take her to adoption events and do the home visits. I love her to pieces but I can no longer keep her due to apartment rules. Please contact me at carolina.sortogp@gmail.com if interested in Millie! Thank you, Carolina. To help ensure Millie's safety, her adoption fee is $50 to be donated to Trinity GAP Rescue. Animal ID: Foster HomeElsa / Vivia / Cricket (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update 3/31/16 -Elsa (previously known as Vivia and Cricket) is a very sweet and loving girl! She is an amazing cuddler! She is so smart and very well behaved in the house! She is crate trained, never potties in the house, and is the first foster i have been able to trust to sleep with me all night without making any messes in my room! She just sleeps right by my side all night! She is a puller on the leash but i have been working with her on it. She still forgets her leash manners when another dog passes or barks through a fence at us so she will still need some work on that. She knows basic commands and could easily be taught so much more. ... (Read More)She comes off very strong and dominate when fist meeting new dogs but if you take it slow and do proper introductions she will do just fine. It worked with my dogs and they are all different type of dogs but she gets along fine with all three of them even though it wouldn't have seemed that way on her first introduction. She just needs to get used to their presence first then she is fine. She can indeed climb a six foot wood fence. Twice she has climbed to the top of mine and looked over ( she gets up it fast!) but as soon as i said her name she jumped back down into the backyard. She will need to be monitored outside for sure. You can always just do a few leashed potty breaks and a longer walk for exercise each day. She is such a great girl and will make a great addition to your family!! Original Posting: Cricket's Sad 'Tail' - Cricket was rescued from a horribly abusive situation last May when she was only about 6 months old. GAP was contacted to take in this sweet baby and of course we agreed and had her taken immediately to our wonderful vet, Dr. Riley. What a sad sight she was - her whiskers were completely burned off, and her 'private' areas were a mass of red swollen, and burned tissues that were horribly infected. With lots of TLC from the wonderful staff at Dr. Riley's, her burns and her heart began to heal. Amazing how these precious creatures hold no grudges towards humans and continue to love us in spite of all the pain inflicted upon them. She is about 2-3 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped! Sadly, the scars from her burns are still visible. She holds no grudges. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Courtesy post thru Trinity GAP-Adoption thru party listed below - Mid-Cities Area- DFW Mitzi is looking for a forever home. Unfortunately, her previous family fell on hard times and could not keep her. Mitzi is so very sweet and affectionate. She will let you rub her tummy and give kisses on a first visit. She is very well adjusted and would do well with children and other pets. Her eyes are so pretty with a bright green ring around big gold eyes. I am not sure the pictures capture that but is something I noticed right away along with her soft brown nose color. Mitzi is about one year old and has been spayed. She has a clean health ... Animal ID: 14885-FosterRegan (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Regan has adjusted VERY well since being here. He just wants to be loved. After spending many weeks in a kennel, I took the chance that Regan just needed to burn off a LOT of pent up energy. Many people judged him as being aggressive, but I felt the only thing wrong with Regan was he needed to be active. Sure enough, I introduced him to our small pack, and he became a completely different dog. Regan's age and breed cries out for activity. It didn't take long at all for him to warm up to our dogs, and began playing with them. He will chase a ball for as long as you will throw it. His perfect home would have another medium to large dog that ... (Read More)will play with him, and a doggie door. He does not like cats. I sincerely believe with the right trainer/training, this sweet boy can learn ANYTHING. I am very impressed with him. Someone is going to end up with a GREAT dog. Needs a home with another dog as he is very playful and loves canine companionship!! He is not kennel/crate trained, but IS doggie door trained. (Regan is not good with cats so should be in a No Cat Home!! Also no birds!! Brings out the Pointer instincts in him!!) I am available to any and all questions!!
