Animal ID: 16792Shadow Blu (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Reduced adoption fee of $75! Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative! He is an awesome dog---housetrained, kennel trained, loves kids and gets along well with other dogs! Plus he is absolutely gorgeous-such a shiny black coat!! Really stunning!! Shadow Blu - 16792 - What a gorgeous shiny black shepherd/lab mix. This boy has an extremely loving personality with a very sad story. He has found himself homeless, and in the shelter because his owner has lost the family home. This dog has definitely been loved, and it is truly heartbreaking that love could not save him from the shelter. The good news is he is ... (Read More)approximately two years old, very social, gets along with other dogs, and was also good with a kitten today at the shelter. We think he would be okay with cats if introduced properly and as always with caution. Shadow Blu is already neutered, and walks well on a leash. He is a little excited initially because he loves to meet people, but once he settles down, he is a good boy on a leash. We are hoping that someone is looking for a handsome young dog that is past the puppy stage, with a wonderfully fun personality. If that describes you, come meet Shadow Blu at the shelter today! Animal ID: Foster HomeRen (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Ren - Adult Staffordshire Terrier Mix - Spayed and vaccinated- Sweet Ren has had a difficult life and is so very deserving of a soft forever place to land. This 48 pound, 5 year old love bug absolutely melts your heart when you meet her. Most recently she successfully completed heart worm treatment and did have some complications in the process. She does not do well in the heat and should not over exert herself. However, this should not be a problem as she prefers to be indoors and is a fairly low energy girl. When she sees her humans her entire body wags right along with her tail. Her very favorite thing to do is jump right up next ... (Read More)to you and snuggle close. Because of this, she would be fine in a home with a small yard. She is not a barker. Truly a low maintenance kind of girl! She gets along fine with her 3 foster sisters and brother but prefers the company of humans above all else. She will happily chew on her toys/bones in her crate but does not like being in there for long periods while you are away. She would be fine with parents that work during the day but would prefer to have a room or bed to rest in while you are gone. If she sounds like just the kind of laid back, chill girl that you have been looking for please email me at nataliehenry80@gmail.com to discuss this precious girl. Kaylee is a beautiful golden retriever who is spayed, house-trained, heart-worm negative and up-to-date on vaccinations. She gets along with most dogs, enjoys walks, and loves to play ball. Kaylee would probably do best as an only dog. She gets along with some dogs, but prefers to have the full attention of her pet ... (Read More)family. Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Baby Girl #16709 - Pit Bull Female - Blue/White- About 2 - 3 years old - Spayed and vaccinated - Heartworm negative/Fecal negative - Baby Girl is a very sweet natured dog.     Bullet has been renamed Shiner and he now walks well on his leash and loves playing frisbee at the dog park and is very social. He is so smart and knows basic commands. Shiner is a super social border collie/lab mix puppy who loves to wear his sports bandanas. He is a fan of all teams, but today was modeling Baylor Bears. This sweet dog would make a perfect agility dog, and can sit and lay down on command. He gets along great with other dogs, but his best Buddy Buck is his favorite playmate. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

CContact Steffenie at steffeniegaprescue@gmail.com for more information! Update: Pookie Jayne formerly Paris - She has really taken to kitten Jack and is much happier with him there. They have made themselves quite at home in the suite! Hadley, the REAL owner of the Mutt Shack, visits them from time to time, and I think that is very good for them to get used to dogs. Hadley is the perfect dog for that! She just goes in and lays down. They hiss and then settle down. No problems! Please come by and meet Pookie and Jack at the Shack!! Pookie Jayne formerly Paris ID16715, is a beautiful young orange and white cat that was brought ... (Read More)into the shelter by a kind lady that found her and babies outside. She wanted to keep them safe, so big thanks for that, plus out of that brutal Texas heat. Paris' brood has moved on so she is ready to start a new home adventure where she can play and be doted on. She has been a great mom so I suspect she will be an even greater pet. She is not shy, she loves to be petted and purrs quickly in thanks. Paris has big eyes that are a very pretty gold with green highlights. I hope her babies get so lucky to have those eyes. I could not get her to play with toys but that may change since she seems very young. She loved the can food so much I have asked our kind animal control officer to give it to her daily. She did use the scratching posts and scratching board right off so probably was indoor at some point to know what they are for. Spayed and vaccinated! GAP does not test for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and it is up to the adopter if they wish to have these tests and to pay for that charge. The cats receive FVRCP-FELK vaccinations and Rabies vaccination. (Less)

Pug Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

I'm Ebony, I'm really cute as I have been told, several times! I'm a Female Pug -Lab Mix, and I'm around two years old . I look like a black Pug in the face, but I have the webbed feet of a lab, so the combination of my genes makes me one unique looking gal! I'm fully vetted with all vaccines and spaying completed. I also recently finished Heartworm treatment and came through it like a trooper and have been deemed totally healthy! Would you believe I also had two cherry eyes fixed, so am definitely a lucky girl considering I was on death row at the Grapevine shelter before Trinity GAP rescued me. This Girl is looking for a fun ... (Read More)loving home. I am very social and get along well with other dogs, too. It may not sound very modest, but I very intelligent and did I mention tons of fun??? I play fetch, enjoy walks and pretty good on a leash. Just remind me every now and then to walk nice because sometimes the lab part of me just takes over! I did say I was intelligent I, and know most commands like sit, down, stay, off, and want to learn more... I am house trained or potty trained. Finally, although I like having fun, I also enjoy snuggles ,snuggles, snuggles, and just laying around the house being with someone who loves me. Hope that person will be You. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dory #16437 is a beautiful, big, tuxedo female. She is very friendly but doesn't seem to like being carried. Hard to tell if that is just because she recently came into the shelter and she has not had time to warm up to us yet. She seems to be a little interested in toys so probably young adult. She uses the cat scratcher as soon as I put it down so that is very good sign she may be well behaved in that area. That also tells me she was probably an indoor cat at one time. American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update from foster mom: Chelsea is such a sweet and gorgeous girl!! Her shiny dark brindle coat and white chest, feet, and tip of her tail make her a show stopper wherever she goes. If you are searching for a big burly dog with a heart of gold then this is the dog for you! She absolutely loves humans both young and old. Her absolute favorite thing to do is come put her head in your lap and give kisses. She doesn't realize she is a big girl and wants to curl right up in your lap and chill. She is not a barker and gets along well with both large and small dogs. She is a medium energy girl; will play in short bursts and then take a ... (Read More)long rest. She is working on her potty training, leash manners, and basic commands. She does not love her crate but will eat, chew on her toys, and nap happily inside for short periods. Her preference is to be wherever her people are though. We truly wanted to adopt this girl ourselves but feel that finding her a wonderful family and continuing to foster is the best way we can support the homeless dog population. Whomever adopts this girl is getting an absolute doll baby in Chelsea! Chelsea #16421 is an absolute doll! She is a people dog, and also is very good with other dogs. She is a typical American Staffordshire Terrier who loves to cuddle, be with her people, and just loves to please. We just can't say enough about this stunning baby! We think she is around two years old, and went potty as soon as we took her outside. We are not sure why this baby has not been picked up by her owners, but some smart and lucky person is going to get a wonderful dog when they adopt her. With Chelsea you get the whole package: a cuddle bug, playmate, running or walking partner, and all around family dog. She is spayed and vaccinated! Animal ID: BoardingMillie (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Millie is now in boarding thru Trinity GAP Rescue--she desperately needs a foster or a home!! Millie is a super sweet dog, and will make a great dog for someone. She is awesome with people. The poor baby has scars all over her face and legs where one of her siblings basically bullied and chewed her up. We think that is why Millie is dog reactive. Our fabulous dog trainer, Ray, is working with her, but she would make a perfect only dog. Fully house trained, does not chew, does not bark, crate trained, and generally very sweet and loving. Right now she would be great as an only dog but we will update her bio as she makes progress with ... (Read More)her training. She is okay on a leash walking, but off leash, she does not like other dogs. No dog park for this sweet girl right now. But she is so deserving of a home and family of her own---but right now she needs to be an only dog!! Trinity GAP Rescue was contacted to help Millie find a new home. GAP has no open fosters so if someone can foster Millie, GAP will take her into their rescue. Finding her a home within 30 days is the main priority but fostering her is a close 2nd! Update: Millie's owner has to surrender Millie within 30 days due to her apartment rules. She cannot break her lease and has no money to move anywhere else and start over with Millie. She rescued Millie about 5 years ago from a local shelter and truly truly loves her but Millie has some dog aggression issues and she is totally banned from the apartments. Trinity GAP is trying to help Millie and has our resident dog trainer working with her. He thinks she is entirely 'fixable'. She is great with people, and a very good looking girl. She will be pound bound at the end of 30 days if we can't find her a home. Hurst, TX - Millie is a 5 year old, 70 lb., Boxer mix. She is spayed, house broken, up to date on all her shots and heartworm negative. She is my dog but I have 30 days to find a home for her. She is very active and not good around kids. She's very reactive around other dogs. She will need an experienced dog handler. She does better with dogs who are submissive. Usually introduction to other dogs is very slow. I can take her to adoption events and do the home visits. I love her to pieces but I can no longer keep her due to apartment rules. Please contact me at carolina.sortogp@gmail.com if interested in Millie! Thank you, Carolina. To help ensure Millie's safety, her adoption fee is $50 to be donated to Trinity GAP Rescue. Animal ID: Foster HomeElsa / Vivia / Cricket (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update 3/31/16 -Elsa (previously known as Vivia and Cricket) is a very sweet and loving girl! She is an amazing cuddler! She is so smart and very well behaved in the house! She is crate trained, never potties in the house, and is the first foster i have been able to trust to sleep with me all night without making any messes in my room! She just sleeps right by my side all night! She is a puller on the leash but i have been working with her on it. She still forgets her leash manners when another dog passes or barks through a fence at us so she will still need some work on that. She knows basic commands and could easily be taught so much more. ... (Read More)She comes off very strong and dominate when fist meeting new dogs but if you take it slow and do proper introductions she will do just fine. It worked with my dogs and they are all different type of dogs but she gets along fine with all three of them even though it wouldn't have seemed that way on her first introduction. She just needs to get used to their presence first then she is fine. She can indeed climb a six foot wood fence. Twice she has climbed to the top of mine and looked over ( she gets up it fast!) but as soon as i said her name she jumped back down into the backyard. She will need to be monitored outside for sure. You can always just do a few leashed potty breaks and a longer walk for exercise each day. She is such a great girl and will make a great addition to your family!! Original Posting: Cricket's Sad 'Tail' - Cricket was rescued from a horribly abusive situation last May when she was only about 6 months old. GAP was contacted to take in this sweet baby and of course we agreed and had her taken immediately to our wonderful vet, Dr. Riley. What a sad sight she was - her whiskers were completely burned off, and her 'private' areas were a mass of red swollen, and burned tissues that were horribly infected. With lots of TLC from the wonderful staff at Dr. Riley's, her burns and her heart began to heal. Amazing how these precious creatures hold no grudges towards humans and continue to love us in spite of all the pain inflicted upon them. She is about 2-3 years old, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped! Sadly, the scars from her burns are still visible. She holds no grudges. Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Regan has adjusted VERY well since being here. He just wants to be loved. After spending many weeks in a kennel, I took the chance that Regan just needed to burn off a LOT of pent up energy. Many people judged him as being aggressive, but I felt the only thing wrong with Regan was he needed to be active. Sure enough, I introduced him to our small pack, and he became a completely different dog. Regan's age and breed cries out for activity. It didn't take long at all for him to warm up to our dogs, and began playing with them. He will chase a ball for as long as you will throw it. His perfect home would have another medium to large dog that ... (Read More)will play with him, and a doggie door. He does not like cats. I sincerely believe with the right trainer/training, this sweet boy can learn ANYTHING. I am very impressed with him. Someone is going to end up with a GREAT dog.
