Animal ID: 17021Blitzen (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Blitzen Boy #17021 is a black lab mix with a touch of white that gives him a classy look. Blitzen has a terrific personality, and if you are looking for a dog who will be waiting for you to return home with lots of love, then he is a perfect fit for you. This young dog appears to be around 50 pounds, loves to play and with a little leash training, will be great on walks. He got along well with dogs at the shelter today, and we think he is around a year old. When he looks at you, he appears to smile, and lights up with joy when he sees you coming. We are all hoping he gets his wish for a new home for Christmas! He appears to be potty ... (Read More)trained but it's hard to tell for sure because they cannot always go out when they need to-but he keeps a pretty clean kennel! Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Whiskey River - Courtesy Post! Please contact Anne at Anne@sterlingtile.net for more information! DFW Area HI EVERYONE!! My name is Whiskey River. I have quite a story to tell. I am a LAB mix about 1 to 2 years old. I have gorgeous brown hair that is mixed with all shades of brown, even a little yellow. They tell me I weigh about 54 pounds but could probably put on a couple more pounds to help my physique. Either way, I am one good-looking guy. Now, to my story. Somehow, I found myself in 'DOG' jail at the Fort Bend Animal Services in Rosenberg, Texas. It is located near Houston. I can't remember what I did that was so awful that I ... (Read More)ended up in jail. My Foster mom saw a picture of me and couldn't get me out of her mind. I had been in jail since November 4th. She would check my status every day but no one ever came to claim me or adopt me. I don't know why as I am a sweet, smart, and handsome DUDE. When things were not looking too good for me, she decided to rescue me and get me out of jail. With the help of a GREAT rescue in the Fort Bend area, I got out of jail. They took me to the vet and arranged for a place to stay until I could get to the DFW area. A nice lady and her son drove all the way to Rosenberg so I could get up North as quickly as possible. They made me go to the Vet again so I could get neutered and microchipped. I honestly don't know why I had to have all this done but they tell me it will help me get adopted. I am now in a foster home with 5 other dogs. So far, I have been the PERFECT house guest. I love playing with my dog friends, never had an accident in the house, and have tried to be on my best behavior! It would be nice if I could find a home with another young dog but I would do fine as an only dog as long as I was loved and had plenty of exercise. I would also love it if you had a doggy door. I love being able to go in and out whenever I want or need to. Someone loved me and treated me well as I am not fearful of people or new adventures as my tail is always wagging. My foster mom says I am very smart and learn quickly. I want to please, as I DON'T want to end up in jail again!!! Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you think I might be a good fit for you or your family, please contact the Trinity GAP Rescue at trinitygapclub@gmail.com. and we can arrange a meet and greet. I know we would make a GREAT team! Love, Whiskey Contact Anne at Anne@sterlingtile.net for more information! DFW Area (Less)

Domestic Cat    Age: Kitten

Dy-No-Mite #17009 - Dynamite is sweet, sweet, super sweet black male cat. I would guess he is about a year old. He is very easy to hold and purrs the moment picked up. Nice to know he had a nice start with good socialization and will make a great companion cat. We are hoping for the holidays he gets a soft bed, plenty of toys, someone to play with and always indoor since too many dangers outside. Please come see this sleek boy, with pretty big green eyes and a great personality at the Euless shelter. Euless Animal Shelter at 1517 Westpark Way in Euless!

Animal ID: 16994Jeep (male)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jeep Update: We all love this dog. Do not be put off if he barks and charges kennel. As soon as you open the kennel door, he turns into love bug! Our resident dog trainer, Ray has been consulted and said sometimes this happens with dogs in shelters. He does great with all the other dogs, and is NOT aggressive. He just has a big bad wolf bark when in his kennel. He appears to be potty trained but it's hard to tell for sure because they cannot always go out when they need to-but he keeps a pretty clean kennel! Jeep #16994 - What a gorgeous and super sweet guy! Jeep appears to be around two years old, and is sooooo calm and sweet. He ... (Read More)gets along well with the other dogs at the shelter, and is very chill and laid back. This handsome dog appears to be a Staffordshire Terrier/Red Heeler mix and is a medium size. He was such a good sport today when the GAP girls dressed him up, tried new collars on him, and fussed over him before pictures. He seemed to enjoy the attention, but did not quite understand why he was in the shelter. We are hoping he will get a home soon! Neutered and vaccinated. He is light Heartworm positive, and vet recommends he stay on Heartguard for 12 months and be retested. He will be fine and if he still tests positive in 6 or 8 months, GAP will provide heartworm treatment for him so please don't let this deter you from adopting this great boy!! He is such a sweet dog and gets along with other dogs very well. Contact the Euless Animal Shelter at 1517 Westpark Way in Euless! (Less)

Animal ID: 16993 FosterPepita (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Most Cats

Pepita visited the vet last week and weighed 16 pounds and was estimated to be 3 years old. She was also diagnosed with a slight heart murmur which is not a huge concern, but she will need to take a pill once a day for the rest of her life to maintain good heart health. The pills are about $25 for a two month supply. Please keep this in mind when considering her adoption. She is also scheduled to be spayed on 12/16/16. Pepita #16993 is a female Chihuahua/rat terrier blend estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old and weighs approximately 20 pounds. If you are looking for the perfect dog, this is your girl! When Pepita first came home ... (Read More)from the shelter she just sat by the door and looked at me like 'please take me home'. I've posted her to facebook and other lost dogs sites but sadly no one has come forward to claim her. She has been very well fed and could stand to lose a few pounds but the plus side of that is she loves to go for walks with her foster dog siblings. Pepita does not bother the cats in our house and is slowly warming up to the other dogs. She doesn't have an interest in playing with them (they are much bigger than her) and would much prefer to spend her time sitting in your lap. Pepita is house trained and does not even need to be kenneled during the day while I'm gone. She really is a precious girl and is so deserving of a special home this holiday season. If you would like to schedule a meet and greet with her, please contact bethpizzuto@hebisd.edu. (Less)

Animal ID: BoardingShani (female)

Lab    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Shani is a purebred chocolate lab who has had a very sad life. She was rescued as a young adult four years ago from California and came to Texas with her new adopted mom. Sadly, she was then left with relatives who did not really want Shani, so she was left in the backyard without much attention. This summer Shani developed a bad skin infection from fleas. She owners actually took her to the shelter to be put down, but they forgot their driver's license, so they had to take her back home. Fate intervened and a friend who loved Shani contacted us about rescuing her. We contacted a lab advocate who agreed to sponsor her, and GAP took ... (Read More)her into our rescue. Shani is now deemed healthy, Heartworm negative, and up to a date on vaccinations. She walks well on a a leash, is potty trained, and loves to play ball. She does great with females, but is initially a little scared of males until she gets to know them. This is probably because there has been some abuse in her past. We are hoping that the future is much better for this give year old beauty. If you are interested in meeting Shani, contact info@muttshacktx.com and ask for Steffenie. (Less)

Cruizer is an 8 month old male terrier mix. He is currently 16 pounds, and shouldn't get much bigger. He is a short haired cutie with ears that sharply express his interest or excitement! He is currently being treated for ringworm, due to his youthful curiosity. He should be completely free of this temporary issue in a few weeks. He settled down quickly on his ride to the vet for evaluation, and met the resident kitty with positive results. He is heartworm negative and is neutered ... (Read More)and vaccinated. (Less)

Animal ID: 16978 FosterLorrie (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Contact foster mom Desiree at desireelcarter@hotmail.com for more information! Lorrie #16978 has spent much of her young life as a puppy in a shelter. She came from the Carrollton shelter to the Euless shelter, only to find that it was very crowded, too. Her pictures do not do justice to this very special little puppy. When her ears are up, she is so super cute, but today, she was too scared to put them up for the camera. Sadly, she was shaking in her kennel, and it was so heartbreaking to think this is what she has known for most of her short life. She appears to only be around four months old, and currently weighs around 25 pounds. ... (Read More)She is so loving and shy, but we think she is going to be a social butterfly when she gets into a foster or fur-ever home. She appears to be a terrier mix, and we think may grow to be a medium size dog around 40 pounds. If you are thinking of fostering or adopting, please take time to meet Lorrie today. She deserves a loving home and to not grow up in a shelter. So sad for her! Contact foster mom Desiree at desireelcarter@hotmail.com for more information! (Less)

Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I picked up Jaxson and he is a great foster dog!! He gets along well with all of my pack, and learned the doggie door on one try!! He's a wonderful dog and will make a wonderful pet for some lucky family!! Contact foster dad Bill at youcalltheshots@mac.com for more information!! Jaxson #16975 is from the Carrollton Shelter, and was in danger of being euthanized there before he was transferred to the Euless shelter. That would have been to horrible because this young guy is so special. He appears to be around one year old, and is extremely sweet and friendly. He also loves to play, gets along well with other dogs, and is just a happy ... (Read More)boy. Jaxson weighs around 50 pounds, so is a good medium size. He needs some leash training, but is smart, so will learn quickly with some patience. He is neutered and ready to go to his new family for the holidays. Animal ID: 16937 FosterBaxter (male)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Personality: High Energy

Baxter - 16937 - This four month old black puppy (with a little white trim on his paws) is very energetic and fun loving. He has way too much energy to be confined to a kennel in the shelter, so he needs a foster or home ASAP! We think he is going to be a medium size dog when grown, but it will take him a few months to get there. We are not sure of his breed, but he looks to be a lab/terrier mix who sadly has not received the training and attention puppies need. We are very hopeful that his luck is about to change, and someone will foster or adopt him and start his training now. He is the perfect age to start leash and potty ... (Read More)training. Animal ID: 14786 BoardingMia (female)

Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mia was picked up as a stray in Justin, TX and via microchip info was returned to GAP. Original owner had rehomed her awhile back and had no contact info for the new owner. Just a note that it is against GAP policy to rehome a pet without notifying GAP. That said, all efforts to locate new owner have been unsuccessful and Mia is now up for adoption. In 2013 it was thought she was around 1-2 years old, so she is 3 years older now. She is spayed but will receive new vaccinations including rabies since we can't verify date of last vaccinations. Her adoption fee will be $75 to cover cost of these new vet services. Please contact Steffenie ... (Read More)at steffeniegaprescue@gmail.com for more information. Original post from 2013: #14786 - Mia - appears to be around one to two years old, and is very shy when first approached. However, with patience, she warms up quickly and shows her sweet and loving personality. This black beauty looked gorgeous in her TCU purple party collar, and walked well on the leash when taken outside to potty. Later, she was taken to the vet for a check-up, and rode great in the car with the GAP volunteer. In fact, she just wanted to be given pats and hugs on her road trip and settled down quickly in the front seat and enjoyed the ride. (Less)

Animal ID: Foster HomeBriggs (male)

Mastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Briggs - 3 year old Mastiff Mix - Briggs was found as a stray in Bedford and narrowly escaped death as he was misdiagnosed with several problems. After GAP rescued him our vet determined he only had a slight skin infection and a heart murmur. He is neutered and vaccinated. Briggs is a gorgeous mastiff mix and is a powerhouse. He would do well in a house with strong leadership as he is very strong and powerful. He does well at the dog park as long as other dogs are not aggressive with him, but if one is he needs to be controlled quickly. He can be leash aggressive again with dogs that are aggressive towards him. He does well with very ... (Read More)docile or playful dogs that do not show any aggression but his power and strength would not make him a good candidate for a house with smaller pets. He also has a strong prey drive so cats are out of the question for Briggs. Now for his overwhelming good qualities. He is a gentle giant to humans of all sizes. He is a happy, joyful, sensitive, devoted, and loving dog. He is a most devoted dog and will quickly become attached to someone who loves and cares for him. Some of his aggression towards other dogs may be his devotion to his foster mom who he may feel he needs to protect. Briggs will stand right in front of his foster mom and look at her with complete devotion. His focus when looking at people is very human like. While at home, he is right at her feet. Briggs has had a hard life and now that he is getting love, his gentle loving nature is obvious. He will make a best friend to someone very lucky to have him. He has a huge head and a sweet manatee face. He sleeps with his foster mom at night, doesn't snore, and is a perfect companion. He is perfectly house trained, is kenneled during the day, only barks when necessary, and rides well in the car. He listens attentively and responds well to commands. Briggs is the kind of dog that comes around once in a lifetime. If you are a good fit for this gentle giant, please consider him. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Pavarotti is in a foster home so please contact Juanita at jlruf@sbcglobal.net or call text 8176918929 for more info! Update: The vet determined that Pavarotti had an injury to his throat at some point but is perfectly fine now-but he will always have that 'singing' voice. We find it very soothing and we hope you will too. He's a great cat-around 3 years old and is neutered and vaccinated. Let him sing you to sleep tonight!! Pavarotti #16845 - Want to know how Pavarotti got his name? Spend a few minutes with him in the meet and greet room and he will sing the whole time! I have never seen anything like it. He has a gutterly chirp ... (Read More)that is not loud, it is quite mild on the ears, and does not stop. I have had him in there twice now and both times he sings like a lark! In the public area he is not as vocal but once away and one on one, he is sure to tell you his whole life story and that of all of ancestors. Pavarotti is definitely one of my favorites! He is a big male, with lovely marbled tabby markings. He is very sweet and is not afraid to show his affection by rubbing on your legs and if you get down on the floor with him he will put his 2 front feet on your chest and get face to face for some serious talking. I love this big boy and his never ending chatter. This boy will go quickly and hopefully to a home that will keep him forever safely indoors. You rock Pavarotti!! American Bulldog Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Toby formerly Hooch #16872 - This absolutely gorgeous young American Bulldog/ Staffordshire Terrier was found on Hwy 10 and is already neutered. He is a big boy weighing around 65 to 70 pounds, but is all love! He loved and kissed on the little puppies at the shelter, and does not know a stranger. This sweet boy would make a great cuddle bug because he is very social, but will need exercise and some leash training. He definitely will steal your heart and needs to be with people who can spend some time with him. If you are interested in adopting or fostering, contact foster mom Kim! Toby is an amazing loving boy. I went to the shelter ... (Read More)yesterday and despite all the barking and loud noises, Toby stood quietly in his cage with a ball in his mouth. Toby walked patiently to the play yard and then went potty. He was eager to play and brought me a Tennis ball. He sat when asked and waited to go for the ball. Toby rode in the car without any problems and ran to the back yard to meet his foster brothers and sisters. He mastered the dog door and played with the Pac until dinner. He does not have any food or toy aggression, and like most Pits - very little shedding. Toby was very curious about our wiener dog, Luci - but when Luci let Toby know she was not interested he respected her boundaries. Toby fell in line with the Pac and went to sleep watching the news. He slept through the night and went to potty first thing in the morning. Toby is great with our little human. This boy is so happy and deserves a great family. He is fully vetted and ready for adoption. Toby is neutered, vaccinated and heartworm negative!     Rosie #15437 - Little Rosie is 50 lbs of energy. Just over 3 years, spayed, vaccinated and Heartworm negative! She is all muscle and a very sweet girl. However, she is also very protective, and if she hears a strange sound, she will let you know about it. She is currently being fostered by a family with other dogs, and gets along with them just fine. She even plays with one of the other dogs that is twice her size, and will run circles around him. Animal ID: 16437 FosterDory (female)

Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Dory #16437 is a beautiful, big, tuxedo female. She is very friendly but doesn't seem to like being carried. Hard to tell if that is just because she recently came into the shelter and she has not had time to warm up to us yet. She seems to be a little interested in toys so probably young adult. She uses the cat scratcher as soon as I put it down so that is very good sign she may be well behaved in that area. That also tells me she was probably an indoor cat at one time. She is very inquisitive, smelling everything in the cat area. She is also pretty vocal. She rubs on you and meows so think she is asking to be petted. She is not ... (Read More)very interested in wet and I have tried 2 different kinds, so prefers kibble at the shelter. Please give this girl a chance at an indoor home that will keep her all her life. Animal ID: 16421 FosterChelsea (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Update from foster mom: Chelsea is such a sweet and gorgeous girl!! Her shiny dark brindle coat and white chest, feet, and tip of her tail make her a show stopper wherever she goes. If you are searching for a big burly dog with a heart of gold then this is the dog for you! She absolutely loves humans both young and old. Her absolute favorite thing to do is come put her head in your lap and give kisses. She doesn't realize she is a big girl and wants to curl right up in your lap and chill. She is not a barker and gets along well with both large and small dogs. She is a medium energy girl; will play in short bursts and then take a ... (Read More)long rest. She is working on her potty training, leash manners, and basic commands. She does not love her crate but will eat, chew on her toys, and nap happily inside for short periods. Her preference is to be wherever her people are though. We truly wanted to adopt this girl ourselves but feel that finding her a wonderful family and continuing to foster is the best way we can support the homeless dog population. Whomever adopts this girl is getting an absolute doll baby in Chelsea! Chelsea #16421 is an absolute doll! She is a people dog, and also is very good with other dogs. She is a typical American Staffordshire Terrier who loves to cuddle, be with her people, and just loves to please. We just can't say enough about this stunning baby! We think she is around two years old, and went potty as soon as we took her outside. We are not sure why this baby has not been picked up by her owners, but some smart and lucky person is going to get a wonderful dog when they adopt her. With Chelsea you get the whole package: a cuddle bug, playmate, running or walking partner, and all around family dog. She is spayed and vaccinated! Animal ID: BoardingMillie (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Magnificent Millie is one good looking babe! She is just a happy dog, and does her happy dance every time you take her for a walk. She is absolutely 100% potty trained and after she goes potty, she does a little dance saying 'I am a good girl!' She adores people, and loves to get belly rubs. She is totally kennel trained, and not a chewer. She enjoys treats and rawhide chews, but knows what is hers. Millie is five year old boxer mix, and really in the prime of her life with her best years ahead of her. Miss Millie needs to be an only dog, although she did live with a companion dog in her former home, she does not really enjoy the company ... (Read More)of other dogs. As a puppy, Millie was attacked by a sibling, so she is cautious around other dogs, and we recommend her being the only princess in the house. Millie is boarding at Mutt Shack until she finds her new forever home, and is totally vetted, heartworm negative and up to date on shots. If you are looking for a new companion that is already trained and will give you lots of love, please contact stefffeniegaprescue@gmail.com Home visit required! (Less)

Animal ID: Foster HomeElsa / Vivia / Cricket (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sweet Elsa had a rough start in life and was let down several time by several people. She was severely burned on her private area as a young puppy. After coming to rescue and getting the treatment she needed she was adopted a few times and was not given the attention or time that she needed and now has lasting issues but has been with me as my foster for 8 months and has come so far. She is a great dog and loves people very much. She is great with kids as well! She is house trained and crate trained and loves to cuddle. However she can be dog reactive and has been in training for her dog aggression and is doing so great. She does great with ... (Read More)my dogs and fosters after she takes time to get use to them. Elsa would do best in a home as an only pet or with someone that can give her time to adjust to the existing pets and knows how to do proper dog introductions. Elsa can jump a six foot wooden fence so she must be monitored when in the backyard or needs an 8 foot fence. She does not go over my fence anymore now that i always have the e-collar on her in the backyard. She responds really well to the e-collar. Elsa is about 3 years old now and weighs about 50 lbs. She is so sweet and does not deserve anything that life has dealt her. She needs a true forever home that will love her as family and give her the attention and care she so deserves. Domestic Cat    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Courtesy post thru Trinity GAP-Adoption thru party listed below - Mid-Cities Area- DFW Mitzi is looking for a forever home. Unfortunately, her previous family fell on hard times and could not keep her. Mitzi is so very sweet and affectionate. She will let you rub her tummy and give kisses on a first visit. She is very well adjusted and would do well with children and other pets. Her eyes are so pretty with a bright green ring around big gold eyes. I am not sure the pictures capture that but is something I noticed right away along with her soft brown nose color. Mitzi is about one year old and has been spayed. She has a clean health ... Animal ID: 14885-FosterRegan (male)

Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Regan has adjusted VERY well since being here. He just wants to be loved. After spending many weeks in a kennel, I took the chance that Regan just needed to burn off a LOT of pent up energy. Many people judged him as being aggressive, but I felt the only thing wrong with Regan was he needed to be active. Sure enough, I introduced him to our small pack, and he became a completely different dog. Regan's age and breed cries out for activity. It didn't take long at all for him to warm up to our dogs, and began playing with them. He will chase a ball for as long as you will throw it. His perfect home would have another medium to large dog that ... (Read More)will play with him, and a doggie door. He does not like cats. I sincerely believe with the right trainer/training, this sweet boy can learn ANYTHING. I am very impressed with him. Someone is going to end up with a GREAT dog. Needs a home with another dog as he is very playful and loves canine companionship!! He is not kennel/crate trained, but IS doggie door trained. (Regan is not good with cats so should be in a No Cat Home!! Also no birds!! Brings out the Pointer instincts in him!!) I am available to any and all questions!!
